RAZGRAD HAS A NOMINATION FOR “THE GOLDEN STAMP” AWARD FOR ITS UNIQUE HISTORICAL AND CULTURAL HERITAGE

      On 19 December 2007 on a special ceremony in the Art Gallery of Sofia will be bestowed “The Golden Stamp” Award for unique European settlement. Razgrad is nominated also for becoming a member of the official delegation of the unique settlements in Europe. The award is bestowed for ancient historical and cultural heritage and for unique sights by the non-governmental organizations “Official delegation of the unique settlements in Europe” and “European forum of experts”. The nominations are proposed by 150 prominent Bulgarian scientists and authors with international acknowledgement, who have been awarded with Golden medal for their contribution to the Bulgarian science and culture. Starting from 2007, the two NGOs launch a grand international project – to nominate, to award and to integrate famous settlements from the European countries, implementing a Programme with their cooperation for the outstripping status of our country and for more dynamic development of the regions. Leading persons in the field of economy, science and culture from the European countries will be integrated and a Programme for prospering Bulgarian society will be implemented.
      The Bulgarian towns awarded with “The Golden Stamp” Award and members of the Official delegation of the unique settlements in Europe is to be presented to international institutions and donours in the Culture centres and Trade agencies in all European capitals.
      All official documents and correspondence to recipients nationwide or abroad can be sealed with this stamp.

The mayors of Razgrad and Calarasi signed Agreement for partnership and cooperation

      On 27 November 2007, Tuesday, the Mayor of Razgrad Municipality Mr. Dencho Boyadzhiev and his counterpart from the Romanian city of Calarasi Mr. Nicolae Dragu, laid down their signatures on official Agreement for partnership and cooperation in the presence of municipal councillors, municipal servants and citizens. The document outlines the legal base of the future relations between the two municipalities, as it was indicated in the protocol from 22 January 2007. The Agreement appears to be a necessary condition for joint application with projects under the Programme for cross-border cooperation between Bulgaria and Romania. It refers to the following five years and envisages: realization of coordinated measures and activities for stimulating the regional development; encouragement of the cooperation and the mutual aid in the economic area; developing the relations in the humanitarian, social, scientific, sport and culture areas through exchange of delegations, art groups, exhibitions, teams etc.; establishment of lasting relations between the tourist organizations in the two municipalities and establishment of tourist links; establishment of preconditions and fundaments for development and realization of the mechanisms of public-private partnership. New meetings for the specification of operative action plan of the two administrations are to be carried out.
The Agreement can be supplemented, updated and re-negotiated each year after a proposal of any of the parties.

PRESS ANNOUNCEMENT

      In the period March – June 2007 a study and analysis was carried out within project “Assessment of the capacity of selected municipalities for acquiring the EU funds” on the administrative, technological and financial capacity of Razgrad Municipality for applying the Structural instruments of the EU. The project was implemented by “Partners for effective decisions” Foundation – Sofia with the financial support of “Open Society” Institute – Budapest.
      Overall objective of the project was to mark the positive development and the problem areas for effective and efficient acquirement of grants for the programme period 2007-2013 on the basis of the conducted studies in 4 pilot municipalities (Razgrad, Svishtov, Troyan and Byala), selected on specific criteria: geographic location, area, population, financial stability and capacity to get into debt.
      The results and conclusions from the study, summarized in a report, were presented from 19 to 25 October 2007 to the municipalities (subjects of the study), as well as to institutions, NGOs and interested social and economic partners, responsible with the management of the Operative Programmes. Municipality of Razgrad got its assessment report on 24 October 2007.
      The conclusions in the report determine Municipality of Razgrad as institution with significant experience in attracting external financial resources, acquired from successfully implemented projects under the pre-accession programmes of the EU and other international donours. The preconditions such as administrative structure, human resources, technological and financial capacity for planning, elaboration and management of projects, financed by the Structural Funds, were considered to be very good.
      In the beginning of December the activities on the project will be finalized with the conduction of a final seminar, including participation of experts in the project activities of the targeted municipalities and representatives from the Authorizing bodies of the main OPs in Bulgaria. On the seminar the approved OPs and their already started financial schemes will be discussed, which include the necessary documents and the specific requirements for applying with projects for financing.

Dencho Boyadzhiev unveiled a monument in the village of Cherkovna in honour of the killed soldiers in the wars


      On the eve of the Independence Day in the village of Cherkovna near Razgrad, the dream of the few remained alive veterans from the wars came true – a soldier’s monument was constructed. The monument was made of ashlar and concrete with four frieze marble slabs. The names of all 27 residents of Cherkovna, participated in the Balkan wars and the two World Wars, were scripted there. The makers of the monument are arch. Kraishtnikov and eng. Spasov. The funds – 7984 leva - were provided by the budget of the mayoralty, the municipal budget, donors from the village of Cherkovna (incl. foreigners), natural entities and companies from municipality of Razgrad, organizations. Executor of the project is the building company “Valley 10”. Wreath and flowers were presented by the Mayor of Razgrad Municipality Mr. Dencho Boyadzhiev, municipal councillors, members of the Union of the war veterans and the Union of officers and sergeants from the reserve, sponsors and citizens. At the building of the mayoralty a photo exhibition about the soldier’s monuments was arranged. /font>

And „Citro¸n” takes a step in Razgrad

      A modern commercial and service centre for purchase, guarantee and post-guarantee service of new cars under the brand of „Citro¸n” will be constructed in the area of the former nursery-garden near the village of Ushintsi. According to the notification about the investment intention of “Inkotar” JSC, the total built-in area is expected to be 1 500 m2, and the total utilizable area – about 5 400 m2. The company won a tender for purchase of the plot in the area of “Boaza”, on the main road Ruse – Varna. The most possible date for the beginning of the construction works is the first semester of 2008. The termination period is one year. It is expected 5 work places to be opened initially, which in the next three years will be increased to 30.
This is the second representation of French motor concern with intentions to invest in Razgrad. A similar base of “Peugeot” is being constructed at the moment.

Grateful letter by the Bulgarian Business Forum

     
The Mayor Dencho Boyadzhiev received a letter by the Bulgarian Business Forum, expressing gratitude about the fruitful cooperation and real support in the joined efforts of Razgrad Municipality and BBF for organizing the National Trade Exposition “Bulgarian Fashion Fair – Razgrad 2007”. As the letter concludes: “I would like to assure you that we appreciate extraordinarily the demonstrated confidence and your institutional assistance for establishment of a successful tradition in Razgrad with presentation of leading companies from the light industry and successful economic practices in attractive and efficient manner. I hope our successful cooperation and partnership will keep developing in the future. I wish you a fruitful work and good luck in the upcoming election campaign!”
