A feedback session
was held on 28 November 2007 (Wednesday) at 14:00 in the Students’ Canteen
of the Boarding house in Razgrad for reporting of the project results of
“Follow up Forum - Razgrad”, financed by the Swiss agency for development
and cooperation and the Municipality of Razgrad. Among the official guests
of the event were architect Belin Mollov, advisor of the Minister of the
regional development and public works and Chairperson of the Managing Board
of “Balkan Assist” Association and the urbanist Angel Burov, representative
of the monitoring team on the project activities implementation.
The moderator of the Follow-up Forum, Mrs.
Slaveya Hristova, reminded the main objective of the forum – to stimulate
the civil participation in the process of preparation of municipal projects
for successful applying under Operative Programme “Regional development”
2007 – 2013. 5 work sessions were held within the forum, during which
project ideas, contributing for the improvement of the physical environment
in Razgrad, were discussed and elaborated. Three of the project proposals
were defined as priority and were granted for their detailed elaboration
within a budget of 113 000 leva.
The projects:
“Public works activities in house complex “Orel”
and its adjoining road links”;
“Improving the conditions of the out-residential
habitat in wide centre of Razgrad”;
“Complex project for public works activities in
the inner quarter areas out of the town centre of Razgrad”
started on March 2007 and the present feedback session aimed at presenting
the results of the project implementation.
The participants in the Forum were introduced in
details by the coordinators and the designers’ teams with the interventions,
set up in the project works – differentiation of new parking lots, green
areas, recreation places, children’s and sports playgrounds, reconstruction
of pedestrian areas and alleys, construction of platforms for disabled
people. The implementation of the project works foresees overall
reconstruction of the elements of the physical environment on a territory,
comprising almost the whole town. The realization of the projects will
contribute to the improvement of the living conditions in Razgrad and will
provide aesthetic and balanced environment. The participants in the session
had the opportunity to put specific questions and architect Belin Mollov
addressed his recommendations on the further elaboration of the projects for
applying for grants from the Operative Programme.
At the end of the session the mayor Mr. Dencho
Boyadzhiev shared his excellent impressions from the work of the Forum and
promised to apply this format of the Forum for discussion of other problems
of local importance. The participants said good-bye to each other with
wishes for new meetings and promises to continue to exert their efforts for
the development of Razgrad.
